A Volunteering Success Story

Volunteers are an important part of The Future Melting Pot, working on a range of projects to help support and develop the organisation.

We like to see it as something of a success story. Many of our volunteers are graduates, undergraduates and/or belong to our target market, and they are the ones shaping The Future Melting Pot and its projects for all of the people who use our services.

A case in point: our innovative pilot project, through which we will support 20 young people interested in business, has been shaped by our volunteers from the initial design and scoping stages right through to implementation. We see this as a vital part of our organisation: not only is the work we do shaped and carried out by people from the very groups we are trying to help, but through their work, our volunteers are helping to improve their community by designing a programme we hope will benefit many people all across the country for years to come.

Volunteers are excited about their work with TFMP, and being able to take ownership and provide direction for the projects they work on not only looks good on their CVs, but genuinely helps them to develop their personal skills and confidence, as well as making our pilot project a truly exciting programme to be a part of.

If you are interested in becoming a Future Melting Pot volunteer or would like more information about the sort of work our volunteers are involved with, please feel free to contact us.

Case Study

Individuals are important to us at The Future Melting Pot, which is why all volunteers are actively involved in deciding what role they will play within the organisation and they are encouraged to keep personal development plans to chart their progress with us.

We are proud of our commitment to developing individuals and supporting them in their long-term career goals. Read on for one of our success stories.

Aneela Asad

Aneela began volunteering with The Future Melting Pot in June 2010. When she started with us, she had spent the past 6 months searching for a job in finance, a field she was looking to move into.

She found TFMP through BVSC’s BWell project and joined us as a full-time volunteer, gaining experience in her chosen field of finance as well as funding applications and project management.

After only five weeks with us, Aneela’s confidence grew dramatically and she received a job offer with full support to continue with her ACCA training course. Everyone at The Future Melting Pot is thrilled that she has managed to land the job she wanted with our support, and we are pleased that she has agreed to keep volunteering with us when she starts in her new role. We wish her all the best for the future!
