How can we help

The Future Melting Pot provides a range of services to entrepreneurs looking to start their own businesses and will develop new services in the future as we expand.

Services diagram

Our current services are:

1. The Future Melting Pot Network Forum
The forum will allow young entrepreneurs and women to network and share their opinions and concerns. It will be facilitated through a mix of workshops, where people can meet to discuss topics of interest to them, and through an online think tank. The forum will also allow older, more experienced entrepreneurs to interact with those just starting out, linking them into the debate so they can share their experiences and the entrepreneurs we help can benefit from the knowledge of those who have first hand knowledge of the world of business.

The Network Forum, delivered both online and face-to-face, will provide our entrepreneurs with the following:

  • An online forum to network with their peers
  • Online interaction with experienced entrepreneurs
  • Online support from The Future Melting Pot team
  • A place to discuss and advertise business plans
  • Meet-ups for networking and discussion

2. Business Development Programme
Once a business idea is ready to go, it needs somewhere to be realised so it can flourish. Our aim with this programme is to provide help and support for entrepreneurs looking for premises for business start-ups. We have links with The Big Peg in Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter and also with C3 (the Creative Community Coalition), who are joining us to help with the provision of office space.

Through this bespoke programme, entrepreneurs can receive assistance and direction for:

  • Finding start-up business premises
  • Practical support in setting up their businesses
  • Assistance finding suitable contacts with which to network
  • Personalised support whenever it’s needed

3. Peer Learning and Mentoring Programme
Our aim is to offer a range of services to develop business skills, knowledge of business custom and soft skills such as confidence-building and networking. The service will provide bespoke personal and business development training to allow entrepreneurs to get the best out of both themselves and their businesses.

We expect older, more experienced entrepreneurs to help facilitate projects relating to this service so that our young cohort has the opportunity to learn from those most in the know.

Through our tailored ‘peer learning and mentoring programme’, delivered face-to-face, by telephone and through e-learning, individuals can gain both personal and practical experience of:

  • adopting performance enhancing strategies
  • growing in self-awareness and personal presence
  • improving inter-personal skills and dealing with conflict
  • developing personal performance plans
  • increasing personal effectiveness
  • improving clarity of purpose
  • developing necessary business skills such as – writing proposals, cash-flow analysis, marketing, etc
  • identifying strengths and areas for development
  • addressing barriers hindering peak performance
  • how to maximise networking opportunities

In the near future, we intend to develop the following services:

1. Assistance for entrepreneurs looking at securing funds for their business, giving them an idea of where to look and how to go about applying for funding.

2. Skills and creativity showcases where entrepreneurs are given the opportunity to show what they can do. This would involve diverse options such as the sponsoring of talent shows, events and enterprise exhibitions.

3. A resource centre where entrepreneurs can enquire about funding, finding other services and networking opportunities. This has the option of being an online learning environment as well as a physical centre where people can go for more information.
